Privacy policy

1.What happens to your photos

The extension runs only on photos.google.com. It reads the photo grid on that page so it knows what you have selected, and it fetches your photo and video files from Google's own servers (googleusercontent.com) when you ask it to download, archive or edit them.

• Downloads go directly from Google to your computer.
• Edits are rendered locally in your browser and saved as new files. Your originals in Google Photos are not modified.
• Nothing is uploaded. Your photos, their contents, their file names and their metadata are never transmitted to us or to any third party.

This is a property of how the extension is built rather than a promise you have to take on trust: there is no server to receive them.

2.What is stored on your device

Kept in your browser's local extension storage, never synced and never transmitted:

• Your chosen download folder name and appearance preference
• Edit presets you save
• Whether you have opted out of usage reporting
• A randomly generated installation identifier, not derived from anything about you

Uninstalling the extension removes all of it.

3.What is sent, and what is not

The extension sends anonymous product analytics to a third-party analytics provider, used only to see which features are used and whether they work.

You can turn this off at any time: open the extension's popup and untick Share anonymous usage data. Nothing is sent after that.

4.Bug reports

Reports are sent only when you press Report a bug or feature request. A report contains what you typed, plus your extension version, browser and current settings. The email field on that form is optional and used only to reply to you. If you leave it blank, nothing identifying is sent.

5.Permissions, and why each one exists

The extension requests no other host access and runs on no other site.

6.Google API Limited Use disclosure

The extension's use of information received from Google APIs and Google Photos adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Photo content is used only to provide the features you invoke, is never transferred except to your own device, is never used for advertising, and is never sold. No human ever reads it.

7.Where data is processed, and for how long

The anonymous usage events described above are handled by a third-party analytics provider on servers in the United States, and are retained for twelve months before deletion. Bug reports are retained until the issue they describe is closed.

No other processor is involved. We do not sell, rent or transfer user data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising, credit assessment or lending. 8.Your rights

Because nothing collected identifies you, most data-subject requests have nothing to act on. Where they do:

• Stop collection. Untick Share anonymous usage data in the popup. This takes effect immediately and needs no request to us.
• Deletion. Your installation id is shown in the popup. Send it to austinclarkeapps@gmail.com and the events recorded against it will be deleted within 30 days.
• Access. Ask, with the same id, and you will be sent every event held against it.

If you are in the EEA or UK, the lawful basis for the analytics is legitimate interest in knowing whether the software works, and you may object at any time using the switch above. If you are in California, note that no personal information is sold or shared as those terms are defined by the CCPA.

9.This website

The site you are reading records anonymous page views through the same third-party analytics provider, so it is possible to see which pages people find useful. It is configured to collect as little as it can:

• No cookies are set for advertising, and no data is sold or shared.
• No visitor profile is ever created, because nobody is identified: the events carry a page path and nothing that describes you.
• Click tracking and session recording are both switched off.
• Do Not Track is honoured. If your browser sends it, nothing is recorded at all.

The site sets no cookies of its own, uses no advertising or social tracking pixels, and embeds nothing from a third party other than the web font.

10.Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information that would identify one.

11.Changes and contact

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top will change and the change will be noted in the extension's release notes.
